Fiberworks 2009 Juror

Jiseon Lee Isbara is the chairman of the fibers department at Oregon College of Art of Craft in Portland. She earned her BFA from Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea and her MFA from Colorado State University. Her current work is the aesthetic interpretation of tasks which use multi-tasking and communication. The compulsive planning required to handle many different responsibilities has become conceptual elements of her art. The process she uses is time consuming, repetitive, and therefore meditative, writing with thread and organizing pieces of fabric. Isbara has exhibited at numerous galleris in the U.S. and Korea. Her recent exhibitions include "Pojagi & Beyond", an invitational exhibition which traveled to Hawaii and Cheongju, Korea, and "Fiber Directions 2007" in Kansas.
