July 18 Exhibit opens at IAO, 6-9 pm

IAO 24 Works on Paper
Traveling Exhibition
2009–2010

 

IAO & Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) are co-sponsoring 24 Works on Paper, traveling to locations across the state for one year and debuting at the IAO Gallery at 811 N. Broadway.

This exhibition will travel to communities that normally have limited exposure to contemporary art and will give statewide visibility to Oklahoma’s superlative contemporary artists.logo for 24-Works on Paper

IAO & OVAC will produce a catalog to include all selected works. Venues already include Eleanor Hays Gallery, Tonkawa; East Central University Ada; Firehouse Art Center, Norman; SWOSU, Weatherford; Plains, Indians, and Pioneers Museum, Woodward; Tulsa Artists Coalition, Tulsa; and Gardiner Art Gallery, Stillwater. Additional venues may be added.

Juror

Adrienne Day has been working as an artist for over 20 years. Her work has been exhibited extensively across the US and Europe at museums, galleries and cultural centers. Day holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters of Fine Arts from Arizona State University. In 2007, she organized the Suite Oklahoma Exchange Portfolio, which included 18 Oklahoma printmakers.

Awards

The judge will award two $250 Award of Merit cash prizes. Organizers will give each artist selected for exhibition a $50 honorarium for the loan of each of their works for the touring period.
