IAO has recently begun placing art displays in local businesses featuring art by local artists. IAO exists in part to help artists gain exposure and to find new audiences and venues within our community. These displays are curated by Candace Coker, and she deserves a hearty thanks for all the hard work she has done to get this art shown.

How To Show at IAO

Scheduled exhibitions at the IAO gallery are reviewed and selected by the Visual Art Curatorial Committe. The committee is made up of IAO members, both artist and non-artists, representing a wide range of backgrounds, mediums and interests. Proposals may be submitted at any time and will be held until the next meeting of the Curatorial Committee. Contemporary art in any media that displays innovative use of materials and/or thought-provoking concepts will be considered. While IAO focuses on the work of Oklahoma artists, regional and national artists have also been exhibited. Exhibitions will normally run for 3-4 weeks, with the work of 2-3 artists being featured. Exhibitions are currently scheduled 8-12 months in advance. Proposals may be submitted by an individual artist or by an individual wishing to curate a group exhibition.
