FILM&VIDEOCalls for SubmissionsIndividual Artists of Oklahoma (IAO) has screened local independent films and promoted Oklahoma filmmakers and media artists for more than a decade. IAO is currently accepting submissions of film and video for its upcoming season. Works less than 15 minutes in length are generally preferred, but longer submissions will be considered. “The IAO Film and Video Program is committed to showing the work of new, developing and experienced filmmakers who may not have screening opportunities elsewhere,” said Sky Camfield, IAO Film and Video Chair. “I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for these artists to submit their work to the IAO.” IAO is committed to promoting the arts of film and video to audiences in Oklahoma and elsewhere. The program encourages emerging and established film and video artists through exhibitions, events, and assistance in production or original works. “The IAO Film and Video Committee’s primary goal is increasing the level of inclusion, new faces and providing opportunities for people interested in filmmaking”, said Jeff Stokes, IAO Executive Director. “Film and video are active components of the IAO program and we’re pleased at the amount of interest shown in this art form”. To submit work, an artist should mail a DVD or VHS tape with a cover letter to the following address: Individual Artists of Oklahoma The cover letter should include the title of the work, the running time, a brief summary of the work and the name, address, telephone number and e-mail of the producer and/or director. The following are examples of annual film and video events for which group entries are solicted. See our Film and Video main page for more information on upcoming shows. OK Video X-ChangeThis screening is a partnership between the IAO and the Tulsa Living Arts Center to bring film and video programming to both Oklahoma City and Tulsa that otherwise might not be shown in either city. Deadlines for entry tend to be in the summer or early fall. Animate ThisThis screening is an exciting blend of all forms of animation. It generally includes a lot of CGI and stop-motion technique, but other forms as well. Not only do you see some of the great works created by Oklahoma Animators and filmmakers, but also national and international animators. Deadlines tend to be in the winter. |
