A Concise and Incomplete
History of the
Film & Video Committee
In late 1997, Individual Artists of Oklahoma mailed a survey designed to measure community interest in artistic films and videos. Months later, when the respondents were invited to come together, the IAO film and video committee was formed.
By consensus, the committee decided its mission would be to support and encourage Oklahoma film and video artists by providing a venue to show their work. At the initial meeting on a Saturday afternoon downtown, Linda Jaeger, new to Oklahoma City and full of energy and ideas, was chosen as the committee’s first chairperson.
Following is a list of past events, members, and artists. The screenings have been made possible by generous donations from Cory’s Audio-Visual Services.
