Held on Friday, February 6, 2009

Do you enjoy the thrill of an artistic challenge?

There is nothing like a little competition to get the creative juices flowing! The annual 24 Hour Video Race invites you to create a short video based on a theme, using a specific prop and line of dialogue to be determined at the kick-off of the 24-hour period.

The 2009 event was co-sponsored by Living Arts, Philbrook Museum of Art and the Individual Artists of Oklahoma.

Cash prizes and awards were available in the following categories: 18 and under Student, College Student, Experimental, Video-Phil (non-student 19 and over), Animation, Juror’s Award and People’s Award.

The Theme for this year's race was “I’ll be your Mirror.” • The required Prop is a ball of twine. • The Line of Dialogue is: “You press the button, we do the rest.”

Participants work in groups of up to 8 people. They have twenty-four hours to plan, shoot and edit their work.

Entries were judged according to specific criteria during a screening at Philbrook Museum of Art on Thursday, February 19, 6:00pm. A festive after-party took place at Living ArtSpace where the winners were announced.

The cost per entry was $30 and student discounts were available.

The kick-off was at Living Arts (308 S. Kenosha in Downtown Tulsa) at 11:30 PM on Friday, February 6, 2009 for finalizing registration and handing out the competition theme information and guidelines.
